When Carl Garsbo landed in Gothenburg at end of 2015, the Swedish producer couldn’t sit still. Riding high from a recent trek with his Counter Records labelmates ODESZA and the success of his Umbrella Club EP and single ‘World Away’, he didn’t waste any time. He got right back in the studio. Releasing his debut LP in 2018, through ODESZA’s own Foreign Family Collective and Counter Records, Places We Don’t Know is an example of how buoyant house beats can make you dance and cry. With over 80 million collective streams, Kasbo has been featured on the cover of Spotify playlists such as mint and Chill Tracks and had 38 inclusions to Spotify New Music Friday playlists. He was included in Billboard Dance’s “Ones to Watch 2018” plus acclaim from The FADER, Complex, HighSnobiety, NYLON and more. 2018 also saw Kasbo release a collaboration with Shallou and an official remix of Ed Sheeran’s “Happier”. The producer has been applying his vision to ambitious live shows, playing at many 2018 festivals such as Coachella, Hangout Music Festival, Electric Forest, Splendour in the Grass and more. Last year Kasbo finished his debut headline tour which had multiple sold-out legs in North America as well down in Australia. 2019 started by playing his debut EU dates supporting ODESZA and more festival dates in the summer and fall, he shows no signs of slowing down in 2019.
