Aspen Armchair Concerts: Orion Weiss Piano

J. S. BACH Aria with 30 Variations, BWV 988, "Goldberg Variations"
J. S. BACH/BRAHMS Chaconne in D minor, BWV 1004, for the Left Hand

One of the most sought-after soloists in his generation of young American musicians, pianist Orion Weiss has performed with the major American orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and New York Philharmonic. Weiss has been an active Aspen collaborator in many different contexts over the years ranging from fun-filled piano duo nights with Shai Wosner and Anna Polansky, to high octane recitals with Augustin Hadelich and James Ehnes. Here, he presents a solo program of the Bach's Goldberg Variations and a Brahms transcription of Bach's Chaconne from the Violin Partita No. 2 in D minor.

The Aspen Music Festival and School is pleased to offer a series of virtual concerts created during the pandemic by musicians in the AMFS fold, both alumni and long-time performers.
These beautifully filmed and curated one-hour concerts are free and viewable for three days each from the comfort of your own home.
